Skye Youngblood, representing Cat Spring, racked up a host of awards at the National Rifle Association National Competition at Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh, IN, earlier this month as the youngest competitor at 14 years old. Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine predicts the Bellville Brahmas will claim the District 12-4A- D2 crown behind preseason all-state athletes Richard Reese and Robert Briggs. Linebacker Tyler Fishbeck was also named the preseason defensive MVP of the district.

The Houston Astros entered this week of play off a sweep of the interstate rival Texas Rangers to help bolster their first-place lead in the American League West. Houston started a west-coast road trip at the start of this week with stops scheduled in Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles before returning to Minute Maid Park to face the Minnesota Twins Aug.

The Sealy girls pee wee All-Star team competed in their district tournament June 4-12 and finished third out of 12 teams. The only games the team lost were to the first- (Washington County) and second-place (Bellville) winners.

Heading into the 2021 season, the Sealy Tigers were picked to finish second in District 12-4A-D2 according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine. The team also checked in at No. 24 in the preseason rankings for division two.

Many Brazos student-athletes took advantage of summer strength and conditioning workouts hosted at Brazos High School. The Houston Astros wrapped up their 2021 draft with 10 selections in rounds 11-20 on Day 2, July 13. Out of the 19 total draft selections, 11 were position players and eight were pitchers.

The Selman Charitable Trust recently presented a donation to the Sealy High School baseball program. The donation will be used to purchase new batting cage netting.
