Twenty-six on academic all-state lists

Bellville High School had 26 seniors honored with academic allstate distinction from the Texas High School Coaches Association and Texas Army National Guard when the lists were announced May 6. To be honored, student-athletes, trainers and managers had to be a senior in good standing with the team, of good moral character and had maintained an overall grade point average of 92 or above in all classes from grades 9-11 and courses completed in grade 12.

The Sealy Tiger baseball team used a 12-run first inning to notch a 15-2, run-rule win in five innings over Mickey Leland Prep in the bi-district round of the playoffs last Friday night at Aubrey “Mutt” Stuessel Stadium in Sealy.

Banquet canceled

Sealy High School’s athletic banquet originally scheduled for Wednesday at T.J. Mills Stadium has been canceled due to weather and a scheduling conflict with Sealy softball’s regional quarterfinal series against Liberty set to start that evening in Navasota.

2021 schedule released

The Sealy Tiger football schedule is set for the 2021 season and features two scrimmages, four nondistrict games and an open week before the five games within District 12-4A-D2. The 2021 schedule mirrors what the 2020 schedule was supposed to be before cancellations and rearrangements were made due to the COVID-19 pandemic and weather.

Parker makes commitment

Sealy High School senior athlete Draper Parker made his commitment to play football for Missouri Southern State University Saturday afternoon. Parker collected 1,025 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns to help the Tigers win an undefeated district championship and go three rounds deep in the playoffs.
