Sealy High School alumni Clayton Fritsch (Class of 2017) and Luke Thielemann (Class of 2020) recently represented Sam Houston State University at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships at George Turner Stadium in Humble.

The Sealy Tiger baseball team used a 12-run first inning to notch a 15-2, run-rule win in five innings over Mickey Leland Prep in the bi-district round of the playoffs last Friday night at Aubrey “Mutt” Stuessel Stadium in Sealy.

Sealy junior pole vaulter Breanna Brandes registered seventh place with a final clearance of 11’ 6” – an inch away from her school and personal record – at the UIL Track and Field State Championships last Thursday at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas at Austin.

The Sealy Tiger football schedule is set for the 2021 season and features two scrimmages, four nondistrict games and an open week before the five games within District 12-4A-D2. The 2021 schedule mirrors what the 2020 schedule was supposed to be before cancellations and rearrangements were made due to the COVID-19 pandemic and weather.

Sealy High School senior athlete Draper Parker made his commitment to play football for Missouri Southern State University Saturday afternoon. Parker collected 1,025 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns to help the Tigers win an undefeated district championship and go three rounds deep in the playoffs.

Austin County was well represented at the University Interscholastic League’s track and field state championships May 6 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas at Austin.

With an 8-4 win over Splendora at Montgomery High School last Friday, the Sealy Lady Tiger softball squad collected an Area Championship and advanced to the regional quarterfinals for the first time since 2018.

The 14th-ranked Blinn College women’s golf team entered the NJCAA Women’s Golf Championship for the first time in program history. The Buccaneers placed second in the Region XIV tournament and earned their berth to nationals thanks in part to Sealy High School alum Madeline Goad.
