Meyer conquers 5'9 to claim state gold

Body
One participant that continued to impress while at the state meet was freshman Ryanne Meyers. “ Our fresh-man did exceptionally well finishing in fourth place. That was a big accomplishment for her and hopefully we can get her in other events next year,” Sealy track and field coach Ray Dabney said. Meyers also faced a challenge at the regional meet in which she had to clear a height to make herself eligible for the state berth. “ She had already missed it twice, but she came through with an excellent jump, and she ended up with two personal records that day and had to have a jump off for the third space spot,” Dabney continued. “ That was a big accomplishment for her.”

Lady Tigers set a new record

Body
The Sealy Lady Tigers are in the midst of a playoff push and are rolling right along after capturing the bi-district championship. In addition to their team's success, the Lady Tigers ended up setting a new record for home runs in the season. The Lady Tigers have hit 67 home runs this season as multiple players have found a pitch they loved and sent it soaring over the outfield wall. Hitting 67 homers in a season is very impressive, and that number could rise with the Lady Tigers setting their sights on a state championship berth this season.
