Sealy track star sets a new record

Sealy High School track star Steven Schwartz has his name in the history books after setting a new record for the 110m hurdles. He ran the race in 13.76 seconds, which is extremely impressive and took a lot of hard work and dedication. This school record stood for 27 years, and Schwartz finally broke it. All of Schwartz’s hard work did not go to waste either as he earned and now holds the School Record in 110m hurdles.

The Sealy Tigers soccer team have four games left on their schedule and currently hold onto the fourth and final playoff spot in the district. The Tigers will have their work cut out for them in these final four games as one win could potentially secure them a playoff spot, and one loss could potentially knock them out of the playoff race. They are currently on a threegame winning streak and show no signs of slowing down as they enter a very important stretch of their season.

The Blinn College esports program split a pair of matches Monday night, earning a victory in League of Legends before falling in a tightly contested Overwatch showdown. In an NJCAA Esports (NJCAAe) League of Legends clash with Brookdale College, the Buccaneers prevailed 2-1 in a best-of-three series.

ATHENS – Purtis Creek State Park Lake and Ellison Creek Reservoir (Lone Star Lake) combined for the first double lunker day of the 2026 Toyota ShareLunker collection season on Monday (Feb. 16). The day was made even more memorable with both Legacy Class fish setting new waterbody records while Ellison Creek produced its first ever Legacy Class fish to become the 81st public waterbody in Texas to etch its name on the elite list.
