Ray named executive director of the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board

The Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kendria Ray as the agency’s new Executive Director, effective June 1. In January 2026, Rex Isom announced his retirement, closing a career spanning over 38 years with TSSWCB, including 23 years as Executive Director.

Cougarettes beat Boling by four

12 Lady Tigers named to the All-District team

The Sealy Lady Tigers put together yet another strong season on the soccer field, finishing with a 21-43 record overall and a 13-1-2 record in district. The Lady Tigers stormed all the way to the Area Round of the playoffs before being eliminated by Vidor.

Tigers beat La Marque by six runs

Texas General Land Office awards TPWD more than $3 million for coastal restoration projects

These funds will benefit projects for the Coastal Fisheries, State Parks and Wildlife divisions AUSTIN — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has recently been awarded more than $3 million by the Texas General Land Office (GLO) for coastal restoration projects along the Texas Gulf Coast. GLO awarded approximately $84.6 million to 14 coastal counties through two major coastal protection programs, including several projects on TPWD lands.
