The Wallis Brazos Minor Girls softball team begins the season with a 1-1 record. They defeated Palacios for their first win of the season but fell to El Campo for their first loss of the season.

The Sealy 7u All-Star baseball team captured the district championship after going a perfect 6-0 this season. The team played hard, and that hard work was rewarded with championship rings.

Abigail Hernandez, a Rice Little League athlete, was recently invited to participate in the Maria Pepe Legacy Series in Williamsport, PA. The Legacy Series honors Maria Pepe, a trailblazing female athlete. In the 1970s, Pepe advocated for girls to play in Little League. Getting to Williamsport presented many challenges for Hernandez, one being the financial challenge.

The Bellville Brahmanettes softball season was an exciting one that saw them reach the regional semi-finals where they were eliminated by Livingston in the UIL playoffs this season. The Brahmanettes posted a 23-16-1 overall record this season and a 7-3 district record to finish in second place in the district.

The Sealy Tigers boys track team had a fantastic season this year that ended with three of their runners competing in the UIL state track meet. These runners capped off a very exciting season on the track for the Tigers, but that was just the tip of the iceberg as three more Tigers were named to the Academic All-State team.

The Sealy Lady Tigers girls track team had a fantastic season this year that ended with one of their athletes competing in the UIL state track meet. Ryanne Meyer capped off the Lady Tigers track season by capturing the state championship in the high jump event.

At the end of the softball seasoncomestheannouncement of the All-District team for the 2026 season. Nine Bellville Brahamanettes were chosen to be on the All-District team, so let’s take a look at who made the cut.

Several athletes from Austin County have gone on to play sports at the college level. Today’s focus is Caysen Bolden who was a senior at Sealy High School just one year ago. In his final months as a Sealy Tiger, Bolden put pen to paper and committed to playing football at Waldorf University. Typically, freshman do not see the field at the college level, but Bolden was different. He showed his coaches that he was ready to play from day one and it made a big impression on the coaches at Waldorf University. It made such an impression that Bolden, as a freshman defensive back, started in five games this season. He made the most of his opportunities this season and recorded seven tackles in those five games. Bolden is just a freshman, so next season he will look to build on his strong start and appear in more games and make even bigger plays for Waldorf University.

Sealy Independent School District has been working hard to replace the nine-yearold turf at TJ Mills Stadium before the start of the next football season. The change is coming because the current turf has reached its lifespan, and Sealy ISD wants to ensure safety on their field because so many kids use it.

With the All-District team announced and the state championship awarded, it is time to look at the players that made the Academic All-State team. The Academic All-State team is a very high honor because student athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA off the field while being a contributing player on the field.
