Brazilian jiu jitsu is an exciting sport, and there are three athletes that are ready to put on a show. On Friday, June 5, Owen Swartz, Aaliyah Torres and Joseph Barnett will be traveling to Houston to compete in Submission Hunter Pro 103 at the Bayou City Event Center. The prelim matches are scheduled to start at 5:15 p.m. with the main card starting at 8 p.m., and all the matches can be streamed on UFC Fight Pass.

With the Sealy Lady Tigers enjoying a lot of success as a team this season, there is one player that has achieved a major milestone in their career. Charlee Ramos has been a force to be reckoned with in the circle for the Lady Tigers and is a big reason why the Lady Tigers are legit contenders for the state championship. Ramos recorded her 300th career strikeout this season, which shows how dedicated she is to this team. She does not mind a large workload, throwing a bunch of pitches, then on the flip side it shows her confidence in the circle. It does not matter who the opponent or the batter is, Ramos is going to give you everything she has from the circle and strike batters out to give her team more offensive opportunities.

The Sealy Lady Tigers are officially on their way to round three after they defeated China Spring last Wednesday and Thursday, April 29-30 in Mumford. In a three-game series, the Lady Tigers needed only two games to secure the area championship and advance to round three.

The Sealy Tigers were eliminated in the bi-district round of the playoffs after falling to La Grange last Wednesday, April 29, Thursday, April 30, and Saturday, May 2. It was a three-game series: the first at Rice Consolidated High School, the second at Weimar High School and the third if necessary, would be played at Mumford High School.

AJ Cepon-Geier has officially committed to continue his athletic career at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. He will compete in both football and basketball while bringing his leadership, determination and competitive spirit to the Loras Duhawk community.

The Sealy Tigers and Lady Tigers traveled to Bullard High School on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2, to compete in the regional track meet. Several athletes gathered at Bullard High School looking to punch their ticket to the state meet later this month.

The Sealy Lady Tigers won the bi-district championship after defeating the Giddings Lady Buffaloes in a three-game series, Thursday and Friday, April 23 and 24, in Columbus. The Lady Tigers dominated both games against Giddings, giving up a total of only five runs across both games.

The Sealy Lady Tigers traveled to Missouri City April 24 to compete in the area meet looking to punch their ticket to the regional meet. To qualify for the megional Meet, athletes must finish within the top four of their respective events, so let’s take a look at some of Sealy’s results.
