The Sealy Tiger boys’ basketball team dropped their first two district contests last week, on the road in Wharton 53-32 and at home against Navasota 66-62, and have two road games this week at El Campo and Royal.
The Sealy Tiger spring tennis season is set to begin this Friday, Jan. 22, at the Bastrop Winter Cup after the squad was not able to finish last year’s spring season at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Sealy Tiger boys’ soccer team wrapped up non-district play with a 3-1 win over the Giddings Buffaloes Monday night at T.J. Mills Stadium thanks to second-half goals from Amador Lopez and Ricky Avila to complement a strong defensive effort.
Sealy senior Megan Schaaf provided a put-back bucket with only 19.06 seconds remaining and the Lady Tiger defense made one last stop to secure their first win in District 24-4A play last Tuesday at home over Wharton by a 48-47 final score.

Thanks to an insurance goal from freshman Rebeca Garza with 19 minutes left to play, the Sealy Lady Tigers secured a 2-1 win over the Needville Lady Jays Monday night at T.J. Mills Stadium. Sealy’s win snapped a five-year, 10-game losing streak against Needville, a former district foe.

The Faith Academy Knight boys’ basketball team fell to 0-3 on the early season after it dropped both contests last week on the road against Cornerstone Christian Academy 63-29 on Jan. 5 and Southwest Christian Academy 74-35 on Jan. 7.
The Sealy Tiger boys’ soccer team started on the right foot in the 2021 regular season and picked up two wins over the Weimar Wildcats, 6-0 last Tuesday at home and 4-2 last Friday on the road. Ricky Avila and Jose Guerrero both scored two goals in the season-opening, 6-0 win where Angel Guerrero and Angel Rodriguez also scored a goal each.
