Cougarettes drop first district game

To start their district part of their schedule, the Brazos Cougarettes went on the road to take on East Bernard for their first district game of the season. Unfortunately, the Cougarettes were on the losing end of a 47-27 score, leaving them with a 3-12 overall record and a 0-1 district record.
Cougars clip Bluejays’ wings

In their final game of the 2025 calendar year, the Brazos Cougars picked up a win against the Needville Bluejays. The Cougars dominated this game from start to finish as they blew out the Bluejays 62-42 last Monday, Dec 29.

The Sealy Lady Tigers basketball team picked up their final win of the 2025 calendar year last Friday over Freeman. The Lady Tigers defeated the Freeman Golden Eagles with a score of 52-40 in a dominant showing before the New Year.
Tigers fall short in Giddings basketball tournament

The Sealy Tiger varsity basketball team entered the Giddings Invitational Tournament with a 9-1 record and came home with a 10-4 record. Tournament play results weren’t what the Tigers were looking for going into district play.
Cougars defeated by Shorthorns 52-43

The Brazos Cougars went on the road to take on the Schulenburg Shorthorns and returned home with a loss. The Cougars played the Shorthorns in a non-district game that saw the Shorthorns come away with a 52-43 win over the Cougars.
Cougarettes drop backto- back games at home

The Brazos Cougarettes fell to a 3-11 record after dropping back-to-back games in home court last week. The Cougarettes too on the Bellville Brahmanettes and the Moulton Bobkatz fell to a 3-11 record.
DPS launches holiday traffic enforcement initiative

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is increasing enforcement for Christmas and New Year’s to ensure Texans have a safe holiday. Texas Highway Patrol (THP) Troopers will surge enforcement efforts through Thursday, Jan. 1, and have Troopers looking for people committing traffic violations including, not wearing seat belts, driving while intoxicated, speeding, failing to follow the state’s Move Over, Slow Down law and others.
Raiders sink Cougars in double OT slugfest

Last Tuesday night, the Rice Consolidated Raiders hosted the Brazos Cougars for a non-district game. The Raiders ended up coming away with the win with a score of 61-51 in double overtime against the Cougars.
