The Sealy High School Interact Club recently stopped by The Sealy News office to redeem aluminum cans and raised $83.25. Residents can drop their aluminum cans in the black and gold box outside The Sealy News office to benefit the students of the Interact Club. If you plan on using a state limited use or state restricted use pesticide, such as Grazon P+D, 2 4-D, Weedmaster, etc., and need a license, the Texas AgriLife Extension Service will be hosting several Private Applicator Training during 2021 at the Austin County Extension Office.
Austin County Judge Tim Lapham said he is not one to join an organization to just be a “knife and fork” member. It was that kind of attitude that led Lapham to take on the challenge of leading Austin County as county judge.
The EEA (Extension Education Association) of Austin County, which is a direct part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, fixed 528 barbecue plates on July 8 to raise funds to support their work and projects in their communities. The fundraiser was coordinated by Judy Schulz and Doris Glenewinkel of Bleiblerville EEA.

During the July 12 regular meeting of the Austin County Commissioners Court at the Bellville courthouse, service awards were presented to Emergency Management Coordinator Ray Chislett and EMT Linda Toman.
