Two of Texas’ Most Wanted are back in custody following arrests. Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Leonard Dee Taylor was arrested July 23 in Houston, and Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Dakevian Beniot Scroggins was arrested July 24 in Tyler. A Crime Stoppers reward of $3,000 will be paid to a tipster for providing information leading to Taylor’s arrest.

Robert Duhon joined the Sealy Police Department and was sworn into his position as patrol officer by city secretary Brooke Knoll Aug. 23 in the city council chambers at Sealy City Hall. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) celebrated the opening of its new 20,000-square-foot records storage facility at the State Records Center Annex at Promontory Point in Austin Aug. 6 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Commission Chair Dr. Martha Wong officially launched the expansion facility during a visit with other members of the Commission and TSLAC staff.

With the school year beginning in person for many districts across the state, the Texas Department of Public Safety is reminding the public of steps they can take to keep students and staff members safe. This includes slowing down in school zones, staying off cell phones and being aware at all times while around school buses.
