Brazos High School teachers were among those who participated in the Meet the Teacher event on campus last Thursday evening to kick-off the school year. Waitr grows customer base for restaurants

Last Thursday, the Austin County Rotary Club discussed the impact Waitr, a food-delivery platform, has had on local businesses at Cazadores Restaurant. Business owners agreed that this time of year typically brings in less revenue than the cooler months because locals are either vacationing, back to school shopping or staying at home in the air conditioning.

Paramedic passes away

Austin County EMS announced Sunday the passing of recently hired paramedic Michael Dodd. He was 23 years old. EMS Chief Walter Morrow said the Katy native died at his home Saturday morning off duty and as of press time, no cause of death had been announced.
