Six fatalities reported this month

At the beginning of the week, the Department of State Health Services had record of 47 COVID-related fatalities in Austin County, two more than were reported last Monday. In the first three weeks of September, six fatalities have been reported compared to four reported in August.
Program opens transfer route for Blinn engineering students

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is expanding the Transfer Academy for Tomorrow’s Engineers (TATE) Dual Enrollment Program across Texas this fall. Leaders from both the UTSA College of Engineering and Integrated Design (CEID) and Blinn College District Engineering Department have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide Blinn engineering students with a smoother transition as they transfer to complete their degree.

Sealy Appliance Center held a ribbon cutting on its grand opening Saturday, Sept. 18. The store offers a one-year warranty on products and will soon offer repairs at its building on 419 Meyer Street. Sealy Appliance Center is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
