The Sealy City Council administered an Oath of Office to its newest member, Bradley Miller, at last Wednesday’s special meeting in the W. E.

Community members gathered at various locations last week to honor and recognize the efforts of local service members at Veterans Day events around the county. Annual programs were hosted at each of the four local school districts Thursday, Nov.

It seems only fitting that after her storied Sealy FFA career, Avery Oliver’s final prepared public speaking performance with her hometown on the back of her blue and gold jacket came on the National FFA Convention stage in Indianapolis, IN and culminated with a thirdplace finish Oct. 29.

Citizens State Bank took action last week and tore down the last of what were four buildings behind the downtown Sealy bank after deteriorating conditions inside the building were worsening. Ryan Svoboda, CFO of Citizens, said the building hadn’t been used in any bank capacity in years but went through asbestos abatement in 2013 when three adjoining buildings were taken down in favor of the parking lot.

Staff and students proudly displayed their creativity and love for reading as they strolled through the streets of Sealy for the annual Small World Book Parade on Wednesday morning, Nov. 3.

Voters from around Austin County ventured out to their polling locations last Tuesday, Nov. 2, to voice their opinion concerning the Texas Constitutional Amendment Election and Bellville ISD Bond Election.
