Voters made it out to their local polling locations yesterday, Nov. 2, to cast their ballots for the Texas Constitutional Amendment and Bellville ISD Bond elections. Unofficial results reveal that all eight constitutional amendments are poised to be approved by voters while the bond election for Bellville ISD was not approved.

The following unofficial statewide results were last updated at the time of writing and are according to results.texas-election.com which indicates 100% of the 4757 polling locations are reporting results. Unofficial Austin County results are according to austincounty.com/page/austin.elections.

Bellville ISD Bond Election

Proposition A 

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 996  Against - 1,806

Proposition A reads: “The issuance of $104,600,000 school building bonds for the construction acquisition, rehabilitation, renovation, expansion, improvement and equipment of school buildings in the district, including the construction of a new high school, and levying and imposition of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds and the costs of any credit agreements. This is a property tax increase. Required statement for all school district bond propositions pursuant to section 45.003, Texas Education Code.”

Proposition B

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 758  Against - 2,021

Proposition B reads: “The issuance of $7,800,000 SCHOOL building bonds for the construction, acquisition, and equipment of a sports complex with seating capacity for more than 1,000 spectators (including, but not limited to, the construction, acquisition, and equipment of a baseball field, softball field, tennis courts, concession stand and restrooms), and levying and imposition of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds and the costs of any credit agreements. This is a property tax increase. Required statement for all school district bond propositions pursuant to section 45.003, Texas Education Code.”

Constitutional Amendment Election

Proposition One

Statewide unofficial results: For - 83.82%   Against - 16.18%

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 2,809  Against - 600

Proposition 1 reads: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the professional sports team

charitable foundations of organizations sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association or the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association to conduct charitable raffles at rodeo venues."

Proposition Two

Statewide unofficial results: For - 63.09%   Against - 36.91%

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 1,759  Against - 1,618

Proposition 2 reads: "The constitutional amendment authorizing a county to finance the development or redevelopment of transportation or infrastructure in unproductive, underdeveloped, or blighted areas in the county." 

Proposition Three

Statewide unofficial results: For - 62.42%   Against - 37.58%

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 2,547  Against - 850

Proposition 3 reads: "The constitutional amendment to prohibit this state or a political subdivision of this state from prohibiting or limiting religious services of religious organizations."  

Proposition Four

Statewide unofficial results: For - 58.78%   Against - 41.22%

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 1,992  Against - 1,284

Proposition 4 reads: "The constitutional amendment changing the eligibility requirements for a justice of the supreme court, a judge of the court of criminal appeals, a justice of a court of appeals, and a district judge."  

Proposition Five

Statewide unofficial results: For - 59.23%   Against - 40.77%

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 1,970  Against - 1,298

Proposition 5 reads: "The constitutional amendment providing additional powers to the State Commission on Judicial Conduct with respect to candidates for judicial office."

Proposition Six

Statewide unofficial results: For - 87.87%   Against - 12.13%

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 2,981  Against - 412

Proposition 6 reads: "The constitutional amendment establishing a right for residents of certain

facilities to designate an essential caregiver for in-person visitation.”

Proposition Seven

Statewide unofficial results: For - 87.12%   Against - 12.88%

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 2,997  Against - 404

Proposition 7 reads: "The constitutional amendment to allow the surviving spouse of a person who is disabled to receive a limitation on the school district ad valorem taxes on the spouse’s residence homestead if the spouse is 55 years of age or older at the time of the person’s death."

Statewide unofficial results: For - 87.76%   Against - 12.24%

Unofficial Austin County results: For - 3,012  Against - 368

Proposition 8 reads: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide for an

exemption from ad valorem taxation of all or part of the market value of the residence homestead of the surviving spouse of a member of the armed services of the United States who is killed or fatally injured in the line of duty.”
