The Bellville Lady Brahmas are taking their time settling into the season after getting started later than most of the teams. They are using tournament play to make up for lost time and slowly but surely the lady Brahmas are starting to come together and get on the same page.

This will be the last article of the season to give an update on the TAPPS State awards for the Faith Academy Knights football team. “Let me start off by saying that it was an honor to coach this tight knit group of young men,” said FA Head Football Coach Trey Carter.

The Sealy Lady Tigers dropped their first district game of the year 80-36 against Willowridge on Tuesday night. This was the Lady Tigers’ first district loss of the year and only their fourth loss overall, so head coach Ray Dabney said his team just has to mentally get past it and get ready for the next game.

The Coach Ed Cross Country Runner of the Year award was established in 2021 by then Sealy Head Cross Country Coach Anthony Branch. Ed Marcinkiewicz, a former cross-country coach at Texas A&M and Cross-Country Coaches Association of Texas Hall of Fame inductee, passed away in 2021 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

The Bellville Lady Brahmas competed in the Brazos Tournament last week and they finished with a 1-3 record. While it is not the prettiest record to look at head coach Mike Dewitz is overall pleased with his team and where they are at so far this season.

The Brazos Cougarettes suffered a few frustrating losses while hosting their basketball tournament last week. The Cougarettes head coach Griffin Clary acknowledged just how frustrating these losses were and said the team needs to simply start believing in themselves.
