Cross country sweeps district

The Sealy Tiger cross country teams both won their District 24-4A championships behind the individual race winner Monday morning at Sealy High School. The Lady Tigers earned their second consecutive district crown while the Tigers earned their first district championship since the seniors’ freshmen year.

Sealy downs El Campo in four

The Sealy Lady Tiger volleyball squad closed round one of district play with a four-set victory over visiting El Campo last Tuesday to improve its overall record to 18-18 and the record within District 24 to 4-1.

Knight runners crowd top 15

Alpha Omega Academy hosted their cross country meet at the Walker Coun ty Fairgrounds in Huntsville Saturday, Oct. 9. It was Faith Academy’s ninth consecutive Saturday to compete in a meet and the Knight runners did not disappoint as seven of the nine high school and junior high runners placed in the top 15.

Lady Knights down Connection

The Faith Academy Lady Knights volleyball team seems to be hitting its stride at the perfect time according to Head Coach Deborah Boudoin. Last week’s play started with a sweep of The Connection School (25-21, 25-11, 25-8) last Tuesday where Boudoin said the team’s serving and passing helped lift it to victory.

Faith battles to the end

The BVCHEA Mustangs traveled to Faith Academy last Friday to take on the Knights in what was one of the toughest, most stressful, hard-fought games in recent years according to Head Coach Trey Carter. After some early fireworks, the visitors eventually wore down the Faith Academy defense to earn a 55-50 victory.

Astros look to close ALDS

Cougars drop homecoming matchup, 26-0

This week in Brazos sports, volleyball climbed in the state rankings, the Cougar football team opens district play and cross country begins preparations for its district championship next week. The Cougarettes won both matches on the volleyball court last week to improve their overall record to 27-9.
