The Brazos Cougar cross country teams punched tickets to the Region III Championship with top-three team finishes at the District 24-3A Championship last Wednesday on their home course. Esmeralda Garcia was the individual district champion for the Cougarettes, who qualified for regionals for the 19th consecutive season.

The Sealy Lady Tiger volleyball squad split its matches last week to open the second round of play within District 24-4A. Sealy entered this week with a 19-19 overall record and a 5-2 mark in district with three matches remaining in the regular season.

The District 21 winners swept the second-round match 19-0 and was set to meet Orange LCM in the regional quarterfinals.
