Faith sweeps week

The Faith Academy volleyball squad earned a pair of wins in as many matches last week to improve the overall record to 14-9 entering the homestretch of the regular season. The Lady Knights started with a sweep of Founders (25-3, 25-9, 25-10) where Ella Polston racked up 15 kills and Alyza Marcotte collected 14 assists and 11 aces to help execute a solid service game plan.
The Houston Astros clinched the American League West last Thursday with a 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays at Minute Maid Park for their fourth divisional title in the last five years. HOUSTON ASTROS  

West champs again

The Houston Astros secured their fourth AL West division title in the last five years last Thursday and are scheduled to host the Chicago White Sox this Thursday to open the playoffs in the American League Divisional Series at Minute Maid Park.
Sealy senior Ethan Hart (35) is congratulated on his second rushing touchdown of the night by Tiger linemen Kyle Willingham (51) and Eric Torres (66). Hart’s touchdowns helped Sealy win its non-district finale 38-14 at Bay City Memorial Stadium last Friday night. COLE McNANNA  

TIGERS DOMINATE

Carruthers requested the ball S Offensive Coordinator Chris first if the visiting Tigers won the coin flip and that’s exactly what happened last Friday in Bay City. Sealy scored on its first possession to steal momentum and eventually built a three-possession lead in the first quarter and a half en route to a 38-14 win in its non-district finale.
