The Austin County Grand Jury returned indictments against nine people in the July 26 session. Those indicted include: Carrie Lavette Alexander for possession of a controlled substance Troy Brown for assault of a family member impeding breathing, abandoning/ endangering a child and injury of a child Sherri Lynn Bustos for having attempting to bring a prohibited substance in a correctional facility Michael Carter for assault of a family member with a previous conviction Ausencio Garcia for evading arrest with a vehicle Katrina Marie George for abandoning/endangering a child David Hayslip for unlawfully possessing a firearm as a felon Troy Ingenhuett for escaping while being arrested/confined and theft of property Jerome Anthony Jacobs for credit card abuse and fraud using identifying info Lauren Jamison for possession of a controlled substance Edwin Deuraill Lewis for possession of a controlled substance Markus Andrew Lindberg for possession of a controlled substance Lon Casey Morris for possession of a controlled substance Axel Pavon for possession of a controlled substance Melvin Charles Portis for possession of a controlled substance Caden Price for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and fraud Joanna Uvalle Ramos for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury Jeremy Lee Sanders for assauly of a family member with previous conviction Jaiden Sims for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and fraud Jason Skillern for theft of property with two prior convictions Joseph Dean Tesar for possession of a controlled substance Amanda Tucker for possession of a controlled substance Desirae Ann Villarreal for manufactured and delivery of a controlled substance Dinesha Shantel Shavon Woods for abandonment and endangerment of a child.

Deputy Secretary of State Joe Esparza drew the ballot order for the 14 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. Texans will vote on these amendments as a part of the November 7 Election.

All beef cattle and hay producers are encouraged to turn in a sample of their hay for analysis at this year’s Austin County Hay Show scheduled for Oct. 6.
