The Austin County Grand Jury returned indictments against nine people in the April 26 session. Those indicted include: Jawad Abualhalaweh for possession of a controlled substance Rafael Anzaldua IV for theft of firearm Tracy Lynn Brotherton for possession of a controlled substance Arthur Edwin Buehrer III for indecency with child sexual contact Issac Cevallos for possession of a controlled substance Daniel Reichard Ehler for driving while intoxicated James Garcia for possession of a controlled substance James William Hart III for possession of a controlled substance Richard Riley Johnson for forgery Damedrick Deshawn Lane for stalking Jaclyn Rivera for forgery Carlos Christopher Salas III for theft of property Tabitha Marie Telford for two counts of delivering a controlled substance Samuel Trevino for failing to comply with sex offender registry Phillip Valencia Jr.

Austin County State Representative Stan Kitzman voted in favor of impeaching Attorney General Ken Paxton late last week. Representatives voted 121-23 to suspend the attorney general and refer him to the Senate for trial on charges of bribery, abuse of office and obstruction.
