District 18 State Senator Lois Kolkhorst was one of six senators that voted to toss out every article of impeachment against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton as the trial began this week in Austin. Kolkhorst, who represents Austin County, voted along with Paul Bettencourt of Houston, Donna Campbell of New Braunfels, Brandon Creighton of Conroe, Bob Hall of Edgewood and Tan Parker of Flower Mound to acquit Paxton before the trial even began.

Last Tuesday Sept. 5, almost 22 years on from 9-11, the Sealy city council made a proclamation remembering the victims of the tragedy by holding a moment of silence on the day of at noon.

Sealy’s city council approved the disbursement of $175,425 of HOT funds to three separate organizations during last Tuesday’s city council meeting. The city of Sealy, the Sealy Historical Society and the Chamber of Commerce, through the Sealy Convention & Visitor Bureau, were all recipients of HOT funds for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
