Abbott urges Texans to tackle school choice

Texas Governor Greg Abbott urged Texans to voice their support to expand education freedom for all Texas families at a Parents Matter Tailgate with over 1,000 parents, students, and other school choice advocates in San Antonio. The Governor called on Texans to get in the game and contact their legislators to pass school choice, before performing the coin toss at the Harmony School of Innovation – Sugar Land vs Cornerstone Christian Academy football game.

Blinn wins top team, individual honors at American Royal Livestock Judging Contest

The Blinn College livestock judging team recently had the topranked team and the high point individual at the highly competitive American Royal Livestock Judging Contest in Kansas City. Blinn totaled 4,623 points to capture the team title recently in the junior college division over second-place Redlands (Okla.) Community College (4,605 points).

DPS reminds Texans about dangers of Fentanyl during Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness Month

This October marks the first ever Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness Month in Texas as established by Governor Greg Abbott earlier this year. In order to help the state continue its fight against this dangerous and deadly drug, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is increasing its public awareness campaign and reminding Texans to take action now in order to help save lives.
