Brazos Interact members Dustin Holub, Rylea Roecker, Grant Marvin & Paige Demny volunteered to help with the Rosenberg Rotary Chili Cook-Off last week. Thank you to these members who helped with this event. Parents, encourage kids to join the Interact Club.

The Westside Narcotics Task Force assisted the Colorado County Sheriff’s office with the arrest of a Glidden man during a narcotics investigation Oct. 20.

The Sealy City Council held a special meeting Oct. 25, approving a motion for a utility agreement with HighTen Capital LLC that would see the group build various mixed-use master plan communities throughout Sealy.

Austin County voters will have the opportunity to allow their voices to be heard in the special constitutional amendment elections as the general election is set for Tuesday, Nov. 7.

For the second year in a row and the ninth year overall, the Austin County community showed up during the annual Bras for a Cause event and surpassed last year’s record-breaking totals. Early numbers show the event raised more than $22,000 to help support research to eradicate breast cancer, surpassing last year’s figures.

The Brazos FFA program wrapped up the Austin County Fair Show with the cattle and swine shows. Brazos FFA had five exhibitors show pen heifers highlighted by Saley Speckmaier placing 10th and Colton Warr placing 11th. Brazos was represented well in the hog ring with four exhibitors and had a great night with Sophia Vykukal being named Class Champion and Jackson Vykukal named Reserve Senior Showman. The program wrapped up the livestock shows with Halter Heifer and Scramble Heifer show where Maggie Richardson had a fourth place in class and Reid Warr was second in his class.
