Winter minimester begins Dec. 16 and spring classes begin Jan. 13 The Blinn College District invites students and their families to explore an affordable, flexible path toward higher education with the opening of registration for the winter minimester and spring 2025 semester. These upcoming terms provide students the opportunity to advance their degrees while benefiting from Blinn’s renowned academic reputation.

The Austin County Retired Teachers’ Association met at the Sens Center in Bellville on Sept. 12. After enjoying a delicious potluck brunch, a very informative program was presented by Bellville Police Chief Jason Smalley and Lieutenant Ray Roberson. They talked about all kinds of crimes in the local area, especially involving seniors, including online and email fraud and phone scams. They then opened up their program to include questions and comments from attendees.

Self-consciousness is a uniquely human attribute that is shared by all non-impaired individuals. However, consciousness, and self-consciousness are two very different things, and the distinction is important. Humans, for some particular reason, are uniquely endowed with both consciousness and self-consciousness.

Two Blinn College livestock judging teams recently placed in the top 15 at the Tulsa State Fair. The Blinn blue team was 14th (4,066 points) and the white team 15th (4,061) in the pro division at Friday’s judging contest in Tulsa, Okla.
