The San Felipe City Council approved a 4% cost of living raise for multiple staff members at last Tuesday’s city council meeting, Dec. 14, at Town Hall.

Sealy’s Virgil and Josephine Gordon Memorial Library recently welcomed Jon Woods as its Library Supervisor and he’s looking to bring new energy to the library while capitalizing on the aspects that have made it a staple of the community.

Saturday, Nov. 20, Brazos FFA representatives competed in the Area XI Leadership Development Event (LDE) and the Ag Advocacy team qualified for the state competition with a second-place finish.

With December making its triumphant arrival, various parades return to Austin County to help spur holiday spirit and bring family-friendly joy to local communities.

Sealy FFA teams earned banners from the Area XI Leadership Development Event (LDE) Saturday, Nov. 20. The Senior Quiz team earned third with two top-10 high individual marks and the Greenhand Chapter Conducting team took fourth.

Kasey Mills – the daughter of Becky and the late T.J. Mills of Sealy – and Justin Pickett – the son of Donna and Tony Fourroux of Bellville and Marty Pickett of Waller – announced they will be joined in marriage Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. at the ColoVista Golf Club in Bastrop.

Friday, July 2, Sealy Knights of Columbus recently made a donation to the Austin County Peace Officers Association with funds raised at the June 11 fish fry at the Columbus Hall. Members of the Knights of Columbus were joined by members of the ACPOA, which is made up of officers and community volunteers from all around Austin County. More than $2,000 in donations and plate sales were raised for scholarships to be awarded by the ACPOA to students every year. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO

New Prairie View Baptist Church hosted a Praise at the Park event at Sealy’s Abe and Irene Levine Park Sunday, June 27. It was the first installment of a “Tour For Jesus” where the church is set to host another Praise at the Park Aug. 29 in Hempstead.
