Faith Academy’s 24th annual Night of Knights took over the Expo Center at the Austin County Fairgrounds last Saturday, Feb. 12, and broke through the fundraising goal to benefit the private school in Bellville.

The Austin County Commissioners Court met in the County Courthouse Monday, Jan. 10, and approved board members for twoyear terms on Austin County Emergency Services Districts (ESD) No. 2 and No. 3 and tabled action on ESD No. 1 to allow more time for the commissioners to speak with community members.

Citizens packed into the Council Chambers and the Wallis City Hall Complex last Wednesday, Dec. 15, to address rumors spread that the city council was looking to dismiss the Police Chief/Interim City Administrator, Police Lieutenant/Criminal Investigator, City Secretary and the City Attorney.

Spectators lined Highway 36 in Wallis Saturday evening to watch the annual holiday parade hosted by the Wallis Chamber of Commerce with the theme of Hot Dang, It’s Christmas! Dozens of floats made their way down the highway, journeying from 9th Street to the Wallis American Legion Hall. Mayor Dennis Diggs and Police Chief David Moseley led the parade in a police car while waving at families spectating.
