The Sealy Tigers are playoff bound as they are set to face off against the Robinson Rockets Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Bryan High School. Quarterback Kane Killough, wide receiver/ defensive back Noah Washington and wide receiver/defensive back Elijah Sanders will lead the Tigers to its second playoff appearance in consecutive years Killough has 25 total touchdowns, 1392 passing yards for the year along with 535 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. Elijah Sanders leads all wide receivers with nine touchdowns and leads the team with three interceptions on defense. There was even a point in the season where Sanders recorded a touchdown and an interception in back-to-back games.

The Buccaneers will now turn their attention to the NJCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s Half Marathon Championships on Nov. 12 The Blinn College men’s and women’s cross country teams continued their program relaunch at the NJCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va.

The Faith Academy Knights hosted Bryan St Joseph for the District Championship, Friday night, Nov. 1, at SAB Stadium.

This past weekend the Sealy Tigers competed in the UILCrossCountryStatemeet. Many schools were included such as Canyon, Sunnyvale, Salado, and Gainesville, the Tigers ended up placing 12th overall which is one their best placement in years.

Sealy Football has dealt with its fair share of turmoil this past week, injury bug affecting Kane Killough, navigating a new offense filling multiple holes left untouched, losing to Madisonville in shocking fashion.

When you hear those words “It’s a marathon not a sprint” it could have multiple meanings in every aspect of life. In sports, this is the mindset that carries you to victory. That’s the message the Sealy Volleyball Head Coach Caroline Owen preached to her players the entire game, even when facing insurmountable odds.

Once a team clinches the playoffs, most players would be relaxed, unmotivated or even complacent with their position. Sealy volleyball team doesn’t fall into that criteria, Head Coach Caroline Owen made sure of that firsthand.
