The Sealy Tiger baseball team was among other University Interscholastic League teams to hold its first official practice last Friday and joined their softball counterparts that started the week prior.

The Sealy powerlifting teams traveled to Waller for a dual meet last Thursday, Jan. 20, and both Tiger squads emerged victoriously.

The Brazos powerlifting teams competed in the Swamp Strength Invitational last Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Rice Consolidated High School and came away with two more lifters of the meet awards, a third-place team finish for the Cougarettes and a second-place team finish for the Cougars.

The Sealy Lady Tiger basketball team dialed up the pressure and converted turnovers to points to help shut down El Campo 46-28 last Friday at home to improve its record within District 24-4A to 2-1 entering this week.

Although the Sealy Tiger basketball team fell in its first District 24-4A contest against El Campo 70-49 last Friday at home, it rebounded from a slow start and a big deficit to the Ricebirds to develop momentum heading into Tuesday’s rivalry matchup with Bellville.

The Sealy Lady Tiger soccer squad opens play within District 20-4A Friday evening against the Hempstead Bobcats on Mark A. Chapman Field at T.J. Mills Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.

Sealy has started the regular season on an 0-5-1 clip where it was shut out in all five losses following a season-opening draw.

The Blinn College District named a school-record 199 student-athletes to the fall 2021 Don Wilhelm Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, surpassing the previous mark of 196 set during the spring 2021 semester.
