Pickleball coming to Sealy

During the Jan 17 Sealy City Council Meeting, Austin County Rotary Club vice-president Charlie Wade spoke at the meeting regarding pickleball coming to Sealy. Wade said at the meeting that Rotary started exploring pickleball and after conducting research, the sport is booming.

Kolkhorst feeling heat over SB 147

District 18 State Senator Lois Kolkhorst is starting to feel backlash over her sponsoring Senate Bill 147 which would ban certain foreign entities from gaining ownership of Texas lands. A protest rally was held in Fort Bend County last Friday against bill calling it discriminatory.

Silent protest calls for action

Members of a silent protest march are calling for the resignations of Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes and Austin County District Attorney Travis Koehn for their lack of action after an incident involving a 65-year-old woman being held against her will at Lindemann’s store in Industry last week.

Quanell X lashed out at Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes and Austin County District Attorney Travis Koehn for the handling of a Jan. 16 incident at Lindemann’s store in Industry.

Quanell X held a press conference on the steps on the Austin County Courthouse Monday, Jan. 23 and called Koehn “a clown” for his handling of the case.

Main Street Board seeks new members

The city of Sealy is looking for volunteer residents wanting to work together to strengthen and enhance downtown Sealy by serving on the Main Street Advisory Board.
