The Austin County Grand Jury returned indictments against nine people in the June 28 session. Those indicted include: Christopher Acosta for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon Quentin Eugene Anderson for aggravated assault of a public servant Dakota Barber for evading arrest with a vehicle Jesus Iram Campos-Rodriguez for aggravated assault of a date/family member with a weapon and aggravated assault of a family member by impeding breathing Ion Dumitrascu for engaging in organized criminal activity Ramiro Garza Jr.

Multi-County New Landowner educational program set for August

The Multi-County New Landowner Education program is a series of eight informational meetings, seminars, and field days designed to make new landowners in Austin, Colorado, Fayette, & Washington Counties aware of what types of agricultural enterprises are best for their property. Participants in the program will hear from experts in a variety of fields in agriculture about best management practices that can be implemented on their own property.

Austin County Peace Officers Association Fish Fry Dinner July 14 The Austin County Peace Officers Association in collaboration with the Sealy Knights of Columbus will be serving their Famous Fish Fry Drive Thru Dinner July 14 at the Sealy Columbus Club (KC) Hall at 1310 Hwy 90 West, Sealy. Serving from 5:30 - 7:15 p.m. Desserts will also be available. The proceeds will benefit ACPOA programs.
