The Sealy City Council is considering a possible creation of a golf cart ordinance as more and more of these types of vehicles are being seen on city roadways. According to council members, a request was issued to discuss and consider whether the city would create an ordinance regarding the ownership and usage of golf carts.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Brandt 1910 event venue in Wallis June 17 to celebrate the purchase of the property by a Katy couple and presentation of a revitalization grant. The building, said to have been constructed in 1910, was purchased by Natalie and Joshua DeJong, a couple hailing from Katy.

Austin County law enforcement hosts active shooter training

Austin County law enforcement and emergency response agencies held an active shooter training drill at Bellville Junior High School on June 15. With the recent increase and onslaught of school shootings across the country, the drill was conducted to help better educate students and staff on what to do and expect in case of a tragic situation like this.
