Sealy Elementary just received a nationwide honor when it comes to public education. US News World Report named Sealy Elementary one of the best elementary schools in Texas.

A Disaster Resource Center is now open in Bellville for Austin County residents seeking disaster assistance because of the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding that began April 26.

When Caleb Reed decided to transition from his current career as a paramedic to a new role as a registered nurse, he turned to the Blinn College District for the degree he needed. After all, Blinn had been there in every step of his higher education journey.

The Friends of Stephen F. Austin State Park had new signs donated for the firewood trailers and the ice machines. They were donated by Perfect Image Signs and designed by Kate Zurawski of Houston. The new signs add a lot of brightness to the trailers and a longing for something ice cold on these extremely hot days we have been having. The group appreciates their generosity to SFASP, it is companies like this and the employees that keep them motivated to keep the park thriving. Friends group Treasurer, and Park maintenance volunteer Robert Zurawski installed the signs at the various sites throughout the park. The Friends of Stephen F. Austin Park are always looking for volunteers, the next meeting is Thursday, June 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the Nature Center. Everyone is welcome to attend.
