preparations need to take place now While it may have only come in as a strong tropical storm, Beryl left a strong reminder to Austin County residents and more than two million homes in the greater Houston area that the time is now to prepare for the upcoming hurricane season. Tropical storm Beryl made landfall on the Texas Gulf Coast near Matagorda Bay early Sunday morning.
