Abbott tours Hurricane Beryl resource staging area in Houston

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott toured a resource staging area at NRG Park in Houston and thanked first responders who have worked around the clock to help their fellow Texans throughout Hurricane Beryl. Following the tour, Governor Abbott held a briefing and a press conference with state and local officials at NRG Arena to provide an update on the state’s continued response and recovery efforts to Hurricane Beryl.

HHSC announces SNAP, WIC replacement benefits for counties impacted by Hurricane Beryl

AUSTIN – Acting Governor Dan Patrick announced that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission received federal approval allowing recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to apply for replacement benefits for food lost or destroyed from Hurricane Beryl. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is also replacing food and formula benefits lost during the hurricane.
