The city of Sealy extended its disaster declaration for 75 days as the city staff continues to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Beryl to the area. The action was taken at last Thursday’s city council meeting.

An Austin County Grand Jury indicted a Sealy man after he was arrested in connection with a series of crimes April 9. Joseph Mesa, 35, was indicted on deadly conduct discharge firearm and aggravated robbery during the June grand jury panel and remains in custody in the Austin County Jail.

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott toured a resource staging area at NRG Park in Houston and thanked first responders who have worked around the clock to help their fellow Texans throughout Hurricane Beryl. Following the tour, Governor Abbott held a briefing and a press conference with state and local officials at NRG Arena to provide an update on the state’s continued response and recovery efforts to Hurricane Beryl.
