Beginning this fall, the Blinn College District will offer dual-credit courses at no cost to certain high school students through the state FAST (Financial Aid for Swift Transfer) Program and reduce the cost of dual-credit courses for all other students.

An attempted traffic stop for a traffic violation led a Bellville man to be arrested after he attempted to flee from Sealy Police last week. Weston Starks, of Bellville, was charged with felony evading arrest with a motor vehicle, theft of property felony warrant x2, driving while licesne invalid with previous conviction, possession of marijuana and two Sealy Municipal Court traffic warrants.
NEW ULM – More than a hundred residents were present for a presentation from the Austin County Sheriff’s office on how they can support police in Austin and Colorado counties to keep the area safe amidst a rash of recent criminal activity.
Huge congratulations to Kaden Crawley for an outstanding achievement. Crawley placed 5th in the UIL State Prose Interpretation is no small feat, especially as a sophomore. This is an achievement for Sealy UIL Academics that hasn’t happened in over 20 years.
The Austin County Retired Teachers Association, a local unit of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, is awarding three scholarships to local Austin County high school graduates this year. The scholarships were initiated in 2015 when the association began supporting local students interested in pursuing the teaching profession.
