Two suspects were arrested June 10 after they were thought to be selling narcotics from a motel in Brookshire. 

Marcus Grant, 48 and Latoya Johnson, 42, were arrested at the scene without incident. Grant was charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, prohibited substance/item in correctional facility and possession of a controlled substance and Johnson was charged with possession of a controlled substance. 

Both were booked into the Waller County Jail.  

City of Sealy employees will be receiving a three percent standard of living increase in their paychecks as approved by city council during the June 4 meeting. The item dominated the conversation during the meeting as council members debated how much to approve as well as discussing how to keep the city from losing valuable employees to other cities in the area.

Fast work by Austin County deputies thwarted an attempt to steal a vehicle during the early morning hours of June 7 but the suspects were able to elude being captured by authorities. “This appears to be the same pattern we have seen where they target trucks in rural areas of the county that have the keys left inside the vehicle.
