EAGLE LAKE – The 50th annual Eagle Lake Rice Field Day tour is scheduled for 4 p.m. June 25 at the David R. Wintermann Rice Research Station on Farm-to-Market Road 102 just north of Eagle Lake, followed by an evening program at the Eagle Lake Community Center located at 100 N Walnut Avenue in Eagle Lake.

The Home-Grown Vegetable Contest was held Saturday, June 8 at Linseisen’s Feed & Supply in Bellville. Along with the contest there was an educational program on How to Make Sauerkraut, presented by Robert Luedeker from Austin County Horticulture Committee.

It’s that time of year in Texas for county fairs, rodeos, parades, and ag competitions, and the Austin County Fair has one contest that you will not find at any other County Fair in Texas. And regardless of where you live in Texas, you can participate in it.

First annual Juneteenth Homecoming Celebration June 22 Join as the area celebrates Juneteenth in San Felipe Park. There will be a parade that begins at 9:30 a.m., as well as a free BBQ cook-off, hayrides, food, fun, and entertainment.
