The Sealy Athletic Department has given out their end of year athletic awards to close the chapter on the 2024-25 athletic year. Several kids were selected as the MVP of their respective sports but there were a few awards handed out before that held a lot of meaning at Sealy High School.

Sealy High School senior Caysen Bolden has committed to continue his football career at Waldorf University in Iowa. His family members along with friends, teammates and coaches all gathered around to watch Bolden achieve his dream of playing college football.

The Sealy Unified track team traveled to Pflugerville to compete in the state track meet. They finished 7th out of 16 schools that were there and are a living representation that hard work and dedication pays off.

The Sealy Tigers were eliminated from the playoffs after being swept in their three-game series against Robinson. They played game one of the series on Wednesday, April 30, then bad weather pushed game two back to Saturday, May 3, and both games were played in Mumford.

The Sealy Track team traveled to Austin to compete in the State Track Meet held at the University of Texas’ track. Sealy ended up leaving Austin with a bronze medal thanks to Steven Schwartz who came in 3rd place in the 300m hurdle race with a time of 37.82 seconds. In the 4x100m relay the team of Logan Newsom, Bryce Mack, Noah Washington and Davian Thomas came in 4th place with a time of 41.62 seconds. In the 4x200m relay the team of Newsome, Mack, Thomas and Hudson Hauerland came in 5th place with a time of one minute and 27 seconds. Finally, in the girls triple jump Avery Grigar came in 6th place with a jump of 37’11.75” to round out their time at the State Meet. Congratulations to all of these athletes for a remarkable season.
