The Sealy Tiger soccer teams split their regular-season finales against the Royal Falcons last Friday and locked in the postseason picture ahead of the bi-district round starting March 26. Both squads will be off for Spring Break and will hit the practice field next week ahead of the playoff opener.

The Sealy Lady Tiger golf team earned third place from the Bellville Tournament last Tuesday. Sealy competed against teams from Smithville, La Grange and Bellville as well as individuals from Lexington, Navasota and Faith Academy.

The Sealy Lady Tiger softball squad opened play within District 24-4A earlier this week when Wharton came to town for a Tuesday morning contest, taking advantage of the Spring Break holiday from school.

When Sealy senior Nick Martinez hit the game-winning shot to beat El Campo in overtime, 60-57, it secured the third home win for the Tigers in as many chances last Friday night after both soccer teams registered 1-0 wins over Navasota to collect a Sealy sweep.

Sealy senior Leslie Saenz’s second-half goal not only proved to be the deciding goal in the Lady Tigers’ 1-0 win over Navasota, but it also kicked off a string of three home wins in Sealy last Friday night.
