Austin County collaboration promotes early detection, preventive care
Body
The last week of October, 27 Austin County residents took an important step toward protecting their health by receiving mammograms through “The Rose.” This opportunity was made possible through the Friendto- Friend educational program, presented by the Austin County Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Board in partnership with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas Department of State Health Services, and Mid-Coast Medical Center of Bellville. Their involvement helped strengthen the program’s focus on breast health awareness and the vital role that early detection plays in saving lives.
