Sealy Police Department coordinated with the Austin County Justice Center to arrest a juvenile for motor vehicle burglaries on Monday, July 14. The burglar scavenged seven unlocked cars in the Westview and Shadowlake areas of Sealy, between 2-4 a.m., Sunday, June 29.

The Sealy City Council appointed Administrative Sergeant Russell Grimes as the next chief of police during its special session, Monday, July 7, at city hall. Grimes will replace the retiring Chief of Police Jay Reeves on Oct.

Local senior artist showcased years of art inspired by religion and compassion pulled out of storage at an exhibit at Avir senior living facility, Friday, June 27. Surrealist painter Norman Baasch displayed over a dozen artworks of his from over the years.
