Sealy City Council reviewed holiday events, disapproved lot variances and approved other business during its meeting, Tuesday, Sept. 16. Mayor Carolyn Bilski reviewed the council meeting in an interview afterwards and described the meeting as straightforward and simple. Agenda items included upcoming holiday events, variances for lot requirements, ADA improvements for the W. E. Hill Community Center and amendments to the rules for Cryan Park.

Sealy City Council approved parking expansion at Chapman Park, reviewed plans to renovate Liedertafel Hall and W.E. Hill Community Center and approved voting to occur at the Hill Center during its meeting, Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Founder and executive director John Jones announced Seniors Together’s expansion to Sealy and Eagle Lake at the Colorado County Commissioners Court on Monday, Aug. 25.

The Sealy Police Department received a $25,000 donation to fund a new all-terrain vehicle and traffic control equipment. Sealy City Council approved the donation from John Wilson at its meeting, prompting a round of applause from those present.

Sealy City Council announced public hearings for its 2025-2026 budget and proposed tax rate at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, and Monday, Aug. 18, respectively, during its city council meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
