Recently, local 4-H members demonstrated their knowledge and achievement through their 4-H project work in the Austin County 4-H Record Book Contest. This annual event allows members the opportunity to document their project work, leadership experiences, and community service throughout the 4-H year.

A DPS trooper with ties to Sealy has recently been promoted to Chief of the Homeland Security Division. Gerald Brown, who worked as a trooper in the Texas Highway Patrol Division in Brenham and later in Sealy, brings nearly three decades of distinguished law enforcement and military service to his new role.

In fact, it is said that “to trust in the resurrected Jesus is to trust not only Jesus Himself but also the texts He trusted and the writings of the witnesses He commissioned to tell the world about Him.”

This month The Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage and her amazing husband will celebrate 54 years of marital bliss. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. It only seems like yesterday that we got married. Maybe that’s the benefit of getting old.

Austin County had seven (7) pecan entries move on from the East Regional Pecan Show to the State Pecan Show for the 2024 crop year. Results of the 2024 Texas State Pecan Show were announced Sunday, July 20th, at the 104th Texas Pecan Growers Annual Conference in Denton.
