The rain held off and locals enjoyed a crawfish boil, live music, games and prizes in downtown Sealy at the annual Mudbugs on Main event hosted by the Shops of Downtown Sealy Saturday, May 22. After the originally scheduled event got rained out May 1, Babette LaMoria-Smith, owner of Patches by Smith and Co., said her prayers were answered and the community came out in droves.

Austin County students participated in the Soil and Water Conservation District’s (SWCD) poster and essay contest. The Austin County Farm Bureau is pleased to announce scholarship winners for the Class of 2021. $500 scholarships $500 scholarships are being awarded to Cameron Hein and Rhys Reichardt of Sealy as well as Kyle Peschel, Lee Michalik and Hunter Schumann from Bellville.

A pair of Bellville High School alumni were named to the Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) Winter 2021 President’s List. The winter term runs from January to May.
