Aschenbeck inducted into Phi Kappa Phi

Alexa Grace Aschenbeck of Bellville was among more than 200 students inducted into the University of Mississippi chapter of Phi Kappa Phi for the spring 2021 semester. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines in its mission “to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others.” Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is based on a student’s sound character and academic standing.

Solis joins Sealy PD

The Sealy Police Department recently welcomed Amber Solis to the force. Solis was chosen to fill the available position for Telecommunicator/Administrative Assistant and will be responsible for dispatching, public relations, records management and other administrative duties. Solis brought more than seven years of experience to SPD after she previously served with Harris County Pct. 5 Constable, Austin County Sheriff’s Office and most recently with the Columbus Police Department. She holds an Advanced Telecommunicator license and is working towards gaining her Master certification. She is certified in 911 and all areas required by the state. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
