Houston Food Bank seeks community partner for Summer Feeding program

Each summer, Houston Food Bank connects children ages 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old with healthy with nutritious no-cost summer meals. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition program administered in the Lone Star State by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).

Abbott announces MP Materials Rare Earth Magnet Manufacturing expansion in Northlake

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott announced MP Materials Corp. will expand its presence in Texas and establish a rare earth magnet manufacturing campus in Northlake that will create more than 1,500 new jobs and represents more than $1.25 billion in capital investment. A Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of $12,880,500 has been extended to MP Materials for the development of the campus’ corporate operations. In addition, a Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF) grant of $53,457,500 has been extended for the manufacturing facility on the campus that will scale the company’s capacity to produce neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets, which are a critical component for semiconductor manufacturing.

Governor Abbott Announces Palo Pinto Mountains State Park Soft Opening March 1

Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is opening the gates to a new state park in North Texas. This is the first state park to open in North Texas in more than 24 years. Palo Pinto Mountains State Park, located between Abilene and the Dallas- Fort Worth Metroplex, offers Texans 4,871 acres of former ranch land to hike, bike, fish, and explore.
