Early voting numbers showed that Austin County voters turned out strong for the primary elections. 

Republican voters cast 2,727 early votes to the Democrats 613 votes for a total of 3,340 early votes. 

Looking at the early voting numbers showed: 

Rep. U.S. Representative District 27 

Mike Cloud received 1,482 votes to Chris Hatley’s 813 votes 

In the highly contested attorney general’s race, Austin County early votes favored Mayes Middleton with 913 votes to Chip Roy’s 737 votes and Aaron Reitz’ 606 votes. 

In the race for Texas Comptroller, Austin County early votes favored Don Huffines with 1481 votes to Kelly Hancock’s 709 votes.  

For the Commissioner of Agriculture, Austin County early votes slightly favored Nate Sheets with 1373 votes to incumbent Sid Miller’s 1128 votes.  

In the State Representative District 85’s race, early county voters favored Dennis “Goose” Geesaman with 1584 votes to incumbent Stan Kitzman’s 992 votes. 

In the two county contested races, in the race for Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3, county voters early votes favored Connie Drake with 358 votes to Jeffrey Grobe’s 164 votes. 

In the race of Justice of the Peace Precinct 4, Bernice Burger held a slim lead over Joseph Smith with 235 early votes to Smith’s 208 votes.
