In a joint operation between the Austin County and Colorado County sheriff’s offices, a Colorado County man was arrested for the two recent thefts of vehicles from the New Ulm area. Quincy Kyle Janszen, 18, was arrested and taken to the Colorado County jail after deputies recovered stolen itmes from a recent Colorado County burglary.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services in Austin and Colorado counties are partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife to host a Feathers, Furs, and Farming program on Friday, May 3. The focus of this program will center on invasive species.

The Blinn College District Veterinary Technology Program has extended its application deadline for fall 2024 admission through Tuesday, April 30. “We encourage individuals interested in becoming compassionate animal healthcare professionals to apply to our program,” said Jessica Salazar Garza, Veterinary Technology Program Director. “Our dedicated faculty, hands-on lab work, and partnership with Texas A&M create an innovative program that prepares our students to succeed on the national licensure exam and fill the need for licensed veterinary technicians in the workforce. As a result, our graduates usually complete the program with jobs lined up.”

The Spring Conference for District 11 Texas Extension Education Association was held April 16, in Aransas Pass with District 11 Director Knellen Quinteros presiding. Following a prayer, there was a moment of silence for recently deceased members.
