Sealy Garden Club hosts first Fall plant, bake sale Oct. 19 The Garden Club of Sealy’s 1st Fall Plant and Bake Sale will be held Saturday Oct. 19 at The American Legion Hall north parking lot from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. More than 400 plants from members gardens plus Fall bedding flats. A little bit of everything - native plants, house plants, herbs, succulents and much more. Bake sale items include cupcakes, cookies, brownies and more. All proceeds are used for the Sealy area Scholarship Fund.

FA third graders step back in time at Washington on Brazos State Park

The third graders recently had the privilege of stepping back into time as they journeyed on their field trip to Washington on the Brazos State Park and Barrington Farms. At Washington on the Brazos, the group learned about how our great state of Texas began as they ventured out onto the Independence Trail that loops through the original townsite of “Old Washington.” The students learned that from the 1820s through the end of the Texas War for Independence in 1836, over 2,000 people live in Old Washington.
