Texas Extension Education Association (TEEA) of Austin County hosted an educational gardening program featuring Jeb Poston, owner of Plants and Things, who shared valuable tips and practical advice for maintaining healthy houseplants.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the 19th Annual Youth and Safety Day welcomed 324 thirdgrade students, along with 22 teachers, 11 tour guides, 14 presenters and four dedicated committee volunteers. This annual event is designed to teach children from all Austin County school districts about critical safety topics to prevent accidents and save lives.

American Legion Post 115 soon will renovate its 100-yearold hall to preserve a historic gathering place for veterans and the broader Bellville community, thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of Bellville.
